Halo 3: Believe Web Commercial

The original television commercial was produced by MJZ and directed by Rupert Sanders and designed to feel like a very small scale diorama with shallow depth of field. AKQA Agency was tasked by Microsoft to create a 360 degree immersive interactive online experience. I was hired to write and direct, using the original commercial’s miniature assets, an experience that felt as if the viewer was in a full-scale, photographic version of the game. After creating the virtual experience, I created an additional story featuring an actor portraying a UNSC Marine living through, in a dream-like state, the battle he endured. Miniature environment by New Deal Studios, scale figures by Stan Winston Studios, cinematographer: Tim Angulo and produced by New Deal Studios.

L.A. Care “Standards”

Zaarly

A story I designed and directed to parody home improvement programs. Cinematographer: A.J. Raitano and produced by New Deal Studios.

Bulletstorm: Last Call

Because of my involvement in the “Halo 3: Believe” campaign, I was hired to design and direct this parody of the Halo 3: Believe commercial for the video game Bulletstorm— and while the game was excessively violent, its over the top attitude never took itself seriously. Cinematographer: Tim Angulo and produced by New Deal Studios.
